At COFA Ashleigh discovered a passion for traditional photography and has been pursuing this ever since. She finds the combination of studying history and theory whilst practising her art very inspiring and hopes to always continue in this way.
In 2010 Ashleigh had work displayed in the National Portrait Gallery as part of the National Youth Self Portrait Prize. She has also been commissioned by General Pants Co. and the Starlight Children's Foundation to produce portraits working in her own style.
Asheigh's 2011 JUMP project involves working with mentor Chris Reid to create a body of work inspired by the ideas of family, time and distance. The body of work will be built around making prints of old family negatives and interweaving/displaying these alongside newly constructed family portraits.
CarriageWorks will guide and manage Ashleigh & Chris' 10-month program experience.
